About

A librarian for 27 years, I am a newly retired 60-something-year-old Nebraskan who has always lived within 50 miles of my birthplace.  A voracious reader and researcher, I often find myself down a rabbit hole of historical research through cemeteries, newspapers, and books, many only available via interlibrary loan (ILL).  I live in small-town Hastings, Nebraska, and am surrounded by mysteries just waiting to be explored.

Background

I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with an undergraduate degree in English Education and Library Media.  I also have a graduate degree from UNK in English and a Master's in Library and Information Science from Emporia State College in Kansas.

Vision

My goal with this website is to bring attention to little-known places through travel, research, and discovering their historical significance.  I plan on creating a podcast, Instagram, and Twitter account to promote the research and writing I do.  In addition, I want to improve my photography and writing skills.
